MONA SARMADI is a partner and the head of the New York Workers’ Compensation Practice Group. She is committed to the defense of self-insured entities, insurance carriers and third-party administrators. She has tried numerous cases and has made appearances at all of the New York State hearing points. Ms. Sarmadi is very familiar with the workers’ compensation law judges and claimant’s counsels involved in her field, providing her clients with an advantage.

Ms. Sarmadi has extensive experience in analyzing, negotiating and drafting Section 32 settlement agreements as well as stipulated agreements. She has handled numerous trials and depositions of medical witnesses. She has also performed legal research, drafted and filed multiple appeals.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sarmadi worked at a large workers’ compensation defense firm in New York City. While there, she served in many roles, including representing self-insured employers, carriers and third party administrators at hearings before the Workers’ Compensation Board. She draws on that experience to successfully challenge the compensability of claims and aggressively pursues all available defenses.

While in law school, Ms. Sarmadi secured a coveted internship at the United Nations-Women Division.
