MATTHEW OLMSTED is a partner in Chartwell’s Deerfield Beach and Miami, Florida offices. Mr. Olmsted has experience handling a wide variety of civil and commercial litigation matters including trucking defense, insurance coverage matters, insurance bad faith, construction defects, premises liability, breach of contract and personal injury defense. In Mendez v. Tracton, obtained a Defense Verdict for client in February 2014 in an auto collison accident, achieving a non-negligent verdict, awarding the plaintiff nothing.

Mr. Olmsted graduated from the University of Utah, in Salt Lake City, Utah where he majored in Political Science. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree, he worked for a major lobbying organization on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Mr. Olmsted proceeded onto law school and earned his Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law. While attending St. Thomas University on a Merit Scholarship, Matthew earned the Book Award for Civil Practice.

Mr. Olmsted is a member of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He also is an active member of several organizations including the Defense Research Institute, Florida Defense Lawyers Association, American Bar Association and the Dade County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section.

Mr. Olmsted serves in the local cub scouts with his two sons.
