ABBEY R. LACHEEN devotes her entire practice to workers’ compensation defense litigation, providing experienced, responsive and dedicated counsel to self-insured employers, insurance companies and governmental/quasi-governmental agencies. Ms. Lacheen is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, making her one of few attorneys in her field to actively handle the complex issues that arise in cross-border workers’ compensation matters.

Ms. Lacheen is a partner of Chartwell Law, and was one of the first female equity partners. Ms. Lacheen serves as the managing partner of the firm’s New Jersey practice, and as the workers’ compensation coordinator of the firm’s Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York offices. She is also a member of the firm’s Medicare Set-Aside team and is active within the firm’s legal education outreach initiatives.

Ms. Lacheen has authored several articles on workers’ compensation issues and regularly conducts educational seminars for clients across the country. She participates in the Annual National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference and the National RIMS Conference. In addition, Ms. Lacheen is an active participant in the New Jersey Self-Insurers’ Association and, in 2016, presented on “Case Law & Legislative Update” at the association’s annual conference.

A graduate of Pennsylvania State University and Widener University School of Law, Ms. Lacheen was a certified legal intern in the Pennsylvania Civil Law Clinic, where she represented clients in court and advised clients on a variety of legal issues.

Ms. Lacheen serves on the board of the homeowners’ association in Radnor Township, where she resides with her husband, Carl, and two daughters, who are the loves of her life. She enjoys spending time with her family at the beach and in the Pocono Mountains, cheering for her girls at soccer and gymnastics, and being an active CrossFit athlete.
