MARISSA J. HUBER is an associate with Chartwell’s New York City office. She received a B.S. in Criminology from the University of Tampa in 2009 and a J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in 2015.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Huber worked as a paralegal at a workers’ compensation plaintiff’s law firm in New York City, and was later welcomed back as a first year associate after law school and upon her admission to the New York Bar.

While in law school, Ms. Huber attained at highly sought-after judicial externship working as a student judicial law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth P. Neiman with the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.  Ms. Huber analyzed numerous Social Security Disability appellate briefs in support of motions to appeal and motions in opposition to the Social Security Administration’s decision to either grant or deny a citizen’s application for social security disability benefits.  After extensive legal research on the issues, she was entrusted with the responsibility of drafting multiple final judicial Opinions either affirming or remanding the decision delivered by the SSA.

Before joining Chartwell, Ms. Huber worked as an associate at a high volume workers’ compensation plaintiff’s law firm in New York City where she successfully litigated many cases on a daily basis. In addition to daily court appearances, Ms. Huber gained extensive experience deposing medical providers and independent medical examiners.  She has also conducted workers’ compensation trials taking witness testimony on various issues, including conducting claimant testimony as it pertains to the mechanism of the alleged injury, and conducting cross-examination testimony of employer witnesses regarding their knowledge, or lack there of, of the underlying allegations.

Ms. Huber is committed to providing high caliber legal services to her clients, and is exultant to have the opportunity to now serve as a defense advocate with the Chartwell Law Offices.
