CLIFFORD GOLDSTEIN - After graduating Temple University and its law school summa cum laude, Clifford Goldstein served as an Assistant District Attorney under Ed Rendell in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Goldstein joined the firm of Rawle & Henderson in 1985, and became the Partner in charge of the Workers’ Compensation Unit in 1990. Chartwell attorney, Clifford A. Goldstein was selected to address the 26th SEAK Annual National Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Medicine Conference July 17, 18-20, 2006 in Hyannisport, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Mr. Goldstein presented his recently completed paper "Defending Cardiovascular Industrial Claims: Heart Attacks, Strokes, Heart Disease and High Blood Pressure”. In doing so, he addressed the most frequently encountered types of cardiovascular disease claims. He explained the usural theiors of causation, tpical and no-so-typical defenses to such claims and the obstacles that employers face in defending cardiac claims and will spend considerable time explaining how to challenge speculative medical theories of causation.
