Andrew J. Furman is a New York-based attorney with interdisciplinary experience in matters relating to general liability, insurance coverage, subrogation, and finance. He represents insurance companies, businesses and self-insured organizations in both state and federal courts.
A significant portion of Andrew’s practice includes insurance coverage in which he focuses on first-party and third-party property coverage defense as well as providing coverage opinions, relating to first- and third-party property claims. In the area of first-party claims, he defends insurers and self-insured organizations in claims concerning business interruption, bad faith, and property damage issues. He also has experience litigating third-party claims involving personal injuries caused by trip and falls, slip and falls, dog bites, and other negligence assertions against property owners.
Rounding out his practice, Andrew represents clients in subrogation matters, in which he negotiates substantial recoveries and participates in jury trials in order to secure favorable jury verdicts. In the finance area, he handles consumer fraud matters and consumer credit issues for large financial institutions.
Andrew develops a well thought out, strategic, and cost-effective plan to reach a quick resolution and, if unable to do so, a cost-effective way of handling a trial. For Andrew, it is gratifying to be able to guide his client through a case in which the best possible result was achieved that was in his client’s best interest.
