Courtney Swartz is an accomplished attorney specializing in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on premises liability, Labor Law matters, and personal injury claims. Based in Chartwell’s New York office, she skillfully manages a high-volume caseload, providing clients with strategic, detail-oriented representation from case inception through resolution. Courtney’s extensive litigation experience encompasses drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, arguing motions and appeals, and negotiating favorable settlements.

Courtney successfully defends cases involving highly complex issues such as negligent supervision, dangerous conditions, and construction-related claims under New York Labor Law §§ 240, 241(6), and 200. She also has experience facilitating resolutions through mediation and arbitration and actively participates in client development events.

Courtney earned her Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law in 2016, where she was a staff member of the Journal of Civil Rights and Economic Development and received the St. John’s Merit Scholarship. She also served as Vice President of the Jewish Law Students Association and was an active member of the Polestino Trial Advocacy Institute. She graduated cum laude from the City University of New York, Queens College, in 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Business.
