Jason Engel is a seasoned litigator with nearly two decades of experience in state and federal courts. His practice includes transportation litigation, prisoner litigation, medical malpractice, construction litigation, employment matters, product liability, professional liability, fraud, contract disputes, and Title IX claims. He also has extensive experience handling class actions and multi-plaintiff litigation, as well as alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
Jason has dedicated his career to trial advocacy. He has taken countless depositions, argued hundreds of motions, and served as lead counsel in jury trials, bench trials, and binding arbitrations across multiple jurisdictions. He effectively manages all aspects of the litigation process, from initial claim assessment through trial and appeal. Having started his career representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases, Jason brings a well-rounded perspective to defense litigation, allowing him to anticipate opposing strategies and build effective counterarguments.
Throughout his career, Jason has represented clients across industries, including healthcare, hospitality, transportation, prisons, and retail. He provides proactive counsel on risk management and litigation strategy, helping businesses handle even the most challenging liability issues. Jason is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the District of Maryland and the District of Columbia. He earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2002 and his B.S. with honors from Rutgers University in 1999, where he played tennis at the collegiate level. He is also a member of the Maryland-District of Columbia Association of Healthcare Risk Managers, Legislative Committee.
Jason is an identical twin. Although his twin is not an attorney, they share a unique connection that always makes for an interesting story.
