Joseph A. Suarez

Joseph Suarez focuses his practice on first-party property, general liability, insurance coverage, bad faith, and construction litigation in Florida’s state and federal courts. With extensive experience spanning thousands of cases, Joe is known for providing comprehensive legal counsel and effective advocacy. He works closely with insurers to deliver well-reasoned liability, coverage, and Special Investigations Unit (SIU) opinions on claims, whether pre-suit or in active litigation. Additionally, he has served as coordinating counsel for insurers, overseeing representation on multi-jurisdictional and complex claims. This proactive approach supports strategic claims handling, defense planning, and risk management.

Joe earned his J.D. from Florida International University College of Law in 2007, following a B.A. from Florida International University in 2003. During law school, he distinguished himself as a member of the Board of Advocates and Moot Court team, receiving recognition for both his writing and oral advocacy. Before joining Chartwell, he practiced at a prominent full-service Florida-based firm, where he concentrated on insurance defense litigation.

Joe is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is also certified by the Florida Department of Financial Services as an instructor for continuing education credits. Joe has earned an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell® and has been named to Florida Trend’s Florida Legal Elite™ and the Florida Rising Stars® list. He is an active member of the Cuban American Bar Association and the Dade County Bar Association.
