Kristen Pride joins Chartwell as of counsel in the firm’s New York office, bringing extensive experience in workers’ compensation law. Known for her sharp analytical skills, Kristen is adept at assessing risks, conducting internal investigations, and building effective defense strategies. Throughout her career, she has provided legal counsel to major insurance carriers and employers, advising on complex workers’ compensation and employment matters. Prior to representing carriers, Kristen worked for a large claimant's firm representing injured workers in workers' compensation and Social Security disability claims.
Kristen earned her J.D. from Southern University Law Center and her B.S.C. from the University of Miami. Beyond her legal practice, Kristen has been actively involved in diversity program development, helping to build initiatives that promote inclusion within the legal profession. She is also committed to mentoring and training, having played a key role in developing associate programs and regularly leading informational sessions on the latest legal issues and developments. She remains engaged with her alma mater as a volunteer with the University of Miami Alumni Association and the Black Alumni Association.
Kristen is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated community service where she serves on the social action and legal advisory committees. She is also an active member of the National Bar Association, Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Association of Black Women Attorneys.
On a personal note, Kristen is a proud mother and enjoys spending time with her large family. She is especially proud of her brother, currently serving as a Chief in the U.S. Navy.
Along with her deep knowledge of workers’ compensation law, Kristen’s dedication to mentorship, community service, and promoting inclusive practices make her a valuable and very welcome addition to the Chartwell team.
