Linda Fridegotto focuses her practice on insurance coverage analysis and litigation, subrogation and commercial litigation. In addition to prosecuting and defending declaratory judgment actions relating to insurance and indemnity obligations, Linda also advises domestic and foreign insurers in the handling of first-party property damage claims, third-party liability claims, casualty liability, products liability and employee, director, and officer liability actions.
Linda provides domestic and foreign insurers with advice in the field of statutory and regulatory compliance. She handles a variety of issues on behalf of insurers including audits, regulatory and compliance, best practices and internal compliance. She also defends fraudulent claims by insureds and has cooperated with insurers and the Department of Financial Services in efforts to prevent insurance fraud.
Linda has experience assisting clients in a variety of business-related industries, including hospitality and restaurant industries. She also has extensive litigation experience in trust and estates, real estate litigation and the negotiation of real estate leases.
In 2016, Linda participated in a seminar for the Defense Association of New York (DANY)’s Diversity Initiative Program, “Leadership, Mentorship & Rainmaking 2016.” This six-month program was an initiative to elevate women and minorities in the legal profession, providing them with tools to advance in the field.
Prior to joining the firm, Linda worked at another New York law firm where, in addition to insurance coverage litigation, she handled a range of employment matters, including writing handbooks and defending discrimination and sexual harassment suits.
Linda grew up the daughter of an Italian diplomat and has lived in six countries throughout her childhood and youth.
Notably, Linda’s admission as a solicitor is pending in England and Wales.
