Mackenzie Ellis is a dedicated attorney with experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, and workers' compensation. She earned her J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law in 2021 and her B.A. from Mississippi State University, where she developed a passion for advocacy that continues to drive her legal career today. She is admitted to practice in Mississippi, as well as in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and both the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi.
Mackenzie’s involvement in the legal community is extensive. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association (where she serves on the editorial board), and the Mississippi Women Lawyers Association, where she has served on the Law Student Committee for the Evelyn Gandy Lecture Series. She is also an active member of the Claims Litigation Management Alliance and was recently selected for the 2024-2025 Leadership Mississippi Bar program.
In addition to her practice, Mackenzie is a sought-after speaker and presenter. She regularly participates in panels and conferences, providing insights on topics such as workers' compensation, artificial intelligence in claims handling, and evolving case law in Mississippi. Notable presentations include “Mississippi Workers’ Compensation Case Law Update” and “On Deck with AI: A Panel on the Future of Artificial Intelligence and the Impact on Claims Handling.”
Outside of her professional work, Mackenzie is deeply committed to mentorship and pro bono service. She mentors through the Mississippi Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program and coaches Moot Court teams at Mississippi College School of Law, sharing her litigation expertise with aspiring attorneys. Her passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion is evident through her involvement with her former firm’s DEI initiatives, where she helped oversee several scholarship programs.
A proud Mississippi native, Mackenzie brings her strong connection to her roots into every aspect of her work. She believes there is no greater sound than thousands of cowbells being rung in unison by Mississippi State fans—an enthusiasm that reflects her commitment to excellence in everything she does.
