Michael Scaljon is a skilled attorney based in Chartwell’s Atlanta office, bringing extensive experience to both the General Liability/Insurance Defense and Transportation practice groups. With a strong background in civil defense litigation, Michael has handled cases involving trucking, automobile accidents, and premises liability, making him a valuable asset to the firm's growing transportation team.
Michael earned his Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in 2007, following his Bachelor of Arts in Government and History from The University of Texas at Austin. In addition to his legal education, he holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business, adding a unique business perspective to his legal practice.
With extensive experience in litigation, Michael has managed a diverse caseload, taken and defended depositions, and actively participated in settlement negotiations and mediations. His background also includes serving as General Counsel for a multistate property management firm, where he established a legal department and significantly reduced litigation against the company by 85%.
An active member of the legal community, Michael is affiliated with the Atlanta Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association. Outside of his legal practice, he has coached youth soccer and taught Sunday school at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Michael’s blend of legal expertise and community involvement makes him a highly regarded addition to the Chartwell Law team.
