Rhonda A. Rudman joins Chartwell Law with an impressive legal background and extensive experience in workers' compensation law and brings an invaluable depth of knowledge and expertise to the firm.

Rhonda earned her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991 and has been practicing law in Pennsylvania since the same year. She has 33 years of experience litigating workers' compensation cases at all levels, with clients ranging from small businesses to some of the largest employers in the state, including multinational insurance companies.Rhonda worked at two prior defense firms, she has also represented injured workers.

Before joining Chartwell Law, Rhonda was a senior partner at a prominent Pennsylvania law firm, where she developed a reputation for her strategic acumen and dedication to her clients. There she was responsible for managing several firm accounts and educating her clients on nuances and changes in' compensation law.

Given her experience, Rhonda is often called to handle more difficult and catastrophic claims. Some of her notable appellate successes include:

  • Superior Lawn Care v WCAB (Hoffer), 878 A.2d 936 (Pa. Cmwlth. 2005): Rhonda successfully obtained subrogation for her client, overcoming the claimant's argument that the MVFRA precluded subrogation.a landmark case, the Court held that the employer's right to subrogation is absolute, rejecting the claimant's equitable defenses, thus calling into question prior case law.
  • Greco v. WCAB (Classic Carpet Co.), 625 A.2d 1273 (Pa. Cmwlth. 1993): Rhonda secured a favorable ruling and helped shape the law regarding psychological injuries by establishing that it was not an abnormal working condition for an owner/manager to work extra shifts.
