Yoanna Blanco brings extensive litigation experience in first-party property coverage and personal injury defense to Chartwell Law. Fluent in Spanish, she has represented defendants in complex litigation matters, including automobile negligence, premises liability, and medical malpractice cases. Her practice includes handling cases from pre-suit through trial, with a strong focus on case evaluations, pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions.
Yoanna earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2020, graduating cum laude and receiving the prestigious Fredric G. Levin Ethos of Excellence Scholarship, covering full tuition and living expenses. During law school, she was a Senior Editor of the Florida Journal of International Law, President of Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society, Clerk of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and an active member of the Latino Law Student Association and Cuban American Bar Association. She also gained invaluable experience as a legal intern in the University of Florida’s Immigration Clinic, assisting immigrants with humanitarian petitions.
She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice and psychology from Florida International University, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2017. She later gained experience working with the Federal Public Defender’s Office and Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, assisting in defense-related investigations, trial preparation, and appellate work.
Yoanna is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. An avid solo traveler, reader, and weightlifter, she also dedicates time to serving as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem. Her legal insight, commitment to client advocacy, and dedication to mentorship make her a valuable addition to Chartwell’s Deerfield Beach office.
