Chartwell Law is pleased to welcome Christopher G. Dunnells as a partner in the General Liability and Insurance Defense groups in Ridgeland, Mississippi.

Christopher focuses his practice on trucking defense, transportation law, premises liability, personal injury defense, and appellate practice. He is available 24 hours a day for trucking accident rapid responses across Mississippi and brings extensive leadership experience from various state and national defense organizations to the firm. 

A frequent speaker and writer, Christopher shares his expertise on trial strategies, claims management, early resolution tactics, negotiation, and transportation law trends. He is an "Advocate" graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and holds a certificate in "Negotiation, Mediation, and Conflict Resolution" from ESSEC Business School. Additionally, he serves as an adjunct professor at Mississippi College School of Law and contributes to the Encyclopedia of Mississippi Law by Thomson Reuters.

Among his many accolades, Christopher holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized as a "Rising Star" in Transportation Law, Personal Injury Defense, and Employment Law by Mid-South Super Lawyers. He is also listed as "One to Watch" by Best Lawyers in America® for Transportation Law and Personal Injury Defense.

Chartwell Law’s trucking practice is growing rapidly, and Christopher’s arrival will play a key role in continuing that expansion. His expertise in trucking defense and transportation law will greatly enhance our capabilities and strengthen our service offerings in this critical area.

Outside the office, Christopher is dedicated to giving back. He volunteers with the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services, the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project, and the American Mock Trial Association. He also coaches youth soccer for Madison Futbol Club and moot court teams at Mississippi College School of Law. In 2021, he received the Daniel E. Ruhl ‘04 Memorial Award for his exceptional mentorship and training of student competitors.

Christopher earned his bachelor’s degree cum laude from the Mississippi University for Women, his juris doctor cum laude from Mississippi College School of Law, and his MBA from the Mississippi College School of Business.
