Chartwell Celebrates Women’s History Month!

Throughout March, we’re highlighting the voices of our female attorneys, sharing the women who inspire them, the lessons they’ve learned, and the quotes that motivate them. Each week, we’ll feature remarkable women as they reflect on the impact of women in law and beyond.

Kicking off our series is Taylor S. Poncz, a partner in our Atlanta office.

What is the best lesson a woman taught you?

The best advice I’ve been given was in a professional setting but also applies to my personal life as well. At my very first Women in the Law seminar through DRI, we discussed the mentality of “Lift while you climb.” That quote has been my foundation over the last decade as I’ve worked to grow my own practice while simultaneously mentoring, encouraging and promoting others. It seems cliché, but the truth is that seeking success alone is not nearly as rewarding as it is when doing it alongside of others. I have been the recipient of the acts of others who personify this mentality and now it’s my responsibility to pay it forward. There’s great power in selflessness, but it has to be genuine.  My belief and commitment to the “Lift while you climb” approach is what makes me feel connected to the “Chartwell way”.
