ANAELI C. PETISCO focuses her practice on labor and employment, general liability, and complex commercial litigation. Ms. Petisco’s target market is comprised of small to mid-sized corporate entities. She has experience working with delivery-based companies with employees and independent contractor drivers, hospitality management, restaurants and fast food chains, staffing agencies, commercial construction-related entities that involve subcontracted workers, and commercial pool tech companies, which typically service beach-front hotels, condo residences, and schools.

Ms. Petisco advises clients on employment related matters involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Equal Pay Act, and the Florida Civil Rights Act. Ms. Petisco’s litigation experience extends to federal and state courts, as well as government agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor and the Florida Commission on Human Relations and alternative dispute resolution.

Prior to joining Chartwell, Ms. Petisco served two legislative sessions at the Florida Capitol. Due to her experience in that role, she was able to educate City of Miami Beach officials as to SB360 in connection with Impact Fees, as it affected developers and successor developers in Miami Beach, during the recession. Ms. Petisco was also previously employed at a boutique labor and employment firm, where she focused on a wide range of employment matters, including class action wage and hour, discrimination, accommodation, retaliation, and whistleblowing.

While in law school, Ms. Petisco interned for the Honorable Justice Peggy A. Quince at the Florida Supreme Court. Shei received book awards in Torts II, Professional Responsibility, Mediation and Advanced Federal Appellate Practice and Procedure. She was the Editor in Chief of the Child and Family Law Journal and served as a Dean’s Study Fellow and a Dean’s Writing Fellow. Ms. Petisco was also a member of the Moot Court Honors Board, where she argued issues on the Fair Labor Standards Act.

When not practicing law, Ms. Petisco spends her time with family and friends.
