Anaeli C. Petisco is an associate in Chartwell’s Miami office. She focuses her practice on labor and employment law. Anaeli advises clients on employment related matters involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Equal Pay Act, and the Florida Civil Rights Act. Anaeli’s litigation experience extends to federal and state courts, as well as government agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor and the Florida Commission on Human Relations and alternative dispute resolution.

Prior to joining Chartwell, Anaeli was employed at a boutique Labor and Employment Firm where she focused on a wide range of employment matters, including class action wage and hour, discrimination, accommodation, retaliation, and whistleblowing. Anaeli also attained trial experience with two published jury trials. Because of this experience, Anaeli was awarded with the 2017 Lawyers of Distinction for Employment and Labor Law. She is admitted to practice by the Florida Bar.

Anaeli graduated from Florida State University with a B.A. in International Affairs with an emphasis in International Relations.   Anaeli then graduated from Barry University School of Law in 2014 with her J.D., cum laude.  While attending law school, Anaeli interned for the Honorable Justice Peggy A. Quince at the Florida Supreme Court. Anaeli received book awards in Torts II, Professional Responsibility, Mediation and Advanced Federal Appellate Practice and Procedure. She was the Editor in Chief of the Child and Family Law Journal and served as a Dean’s Study Fellow and a Dean’s Writing Fellow. Anaeli was also a member of the Moot Court Honors Board where she argued issues on the Fair Labor Standards Act.

When not practicing law, Anaeli spends her time with family and friends. She is currently training for the Ragnar, a 200 mile running relay race and the Miami Half Marathon.
