MEGAN L. DOUGHERTY is a partner in Chartwell's Valley Forge office. She was the first female and youngest person to ever be named partner at Chartwell. Since 2008, Ms. Dougherty has been recognized by the publishers of Philadelphia magazine and the Pennsylvania edition of Super Lawyers magazine as a "Rising Star,” an honor given to the top 2.5 percent of attorneys in the Commonwealth who are 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less. She is a 2002 graduate from Temple University School of Law and has dedicated her practice to workers’ compensation defense work.
Ms. Dougherty is a member of the Young Trial Lawyers of America and the Pennsylvania & American Bar Associations. She serves as the 2015 Co-Chair for the Philadelphia Workers’ Compensation Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. In her role as Co-Chair, Ms. Dougherty has been a contributing author for The Philadelphia Lawyer and the Philadelphia Bar Reporter. Moreover, Ms. Dougherty is a frequent contributor to the Workers’ Compensation Section CLE program. While in law school, Megan was voted outstanding oral advocate and also was the Chair of SBA Public Affairs. Megan participated in a Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Conference Panel, "Forms Filing: How to Get it Right,” in 2005. Megan is committed to the defense of self-insured employers, insurance companies, and governmental and quasi-governmental agencies in Pennsylvania workers’ compensation matters.
Ms. Dougherty is dedicated to maintaining the integrity and success of Chartwell and its clients, as well as to her husband and two children.
