Brian M. Searls focuses his practice on the representation of regional and national insurance companies, corporations, municipalities and other self-insured business entities. Brian represents individuals involved in matters involving commercial and private vehicular liability, commercial and private premises liability and commercial and residential property loss. In addition, Brian serves as general counsel for a number of clients in the captive insurance markets. His experience also includes handling insurance coverage and subrogation matters on behalf of both insurers and self-insured political subdivisions. His practice extends to both the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
While in law school, Brian served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association. Upon graduation, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Julie M. Marino, P.J.S.C. of the Somerset County, New Jersey Superior Court. Prior to joining Chartwell, Brian practiced at a regional civil litigation defense firm. In addition to private practice, he served as an Assistant Public Defender in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
In addition to academic achievements, Brian excelled in athletics. He was a scholar-athlete as a member of his college's NCAA Division I baseball team which was recently inducted into the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame.
Outside of his law practice, Brian serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Avondale Fire Company and the Chester Heights Fire Company. Brian currently lives in Chester County, Pennsylvania with his wife and four children.
