Megan L. Dougherty specializes in workers’ compensation, representing a broad spectrum of clients, including self-insured organizations, carriers, and third-party administrators (TPAs). With extensive experience in defending workers’ compensation claims, Megan has particularly focused on representing employers in the construction and healthcare sectors. She takes a team-oriented approach to her practice, maintaining open and consistent communication with employers, brokers, and adjusters to ensure comprehensive and cohesive case handling.

Megan is known for her aggressive and proactive representation, aligning her strategies with the specific goals of her clients to achieve effective and well-informed outcomes. Whether negotiating settlements to avoid unnecessary litigation costs or taking cases to trial, Megan approaches each matter with a meticulous focus on reducing her clients’ exposure. Her commitment to client success is evidenced by her persistent communication and diligent efforts, which have led to significant case closures and minimized financial liabilities.

A trailblazer in her field, Megan was the first and youngest non-equity partner at Chartwell Law and one of the first female equity partners. She is an active member of the Young Trial Lawyers of America, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Megan has demonstrated leadership as Co-Chair of the Philadelphia Workers’ Compensation Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association in 2015 and has contributed to publications such as The Philadelphia Lawyer and the Philadelphia Bar Reporter. She frequently writes articles and presents for CLE programs and other educational sessions, sharing her knowledge on all aspects of workers’ compensation law.

Megan’s deep knowledge and talent has been recognized through her participation in high-profile conferences, including the 2024 National Comp Conference in Las Vegas and the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Bureau Conference. She has also presented as a panelist at events such as the 2015 Bench Bar Conference, discussing strategies for reducing medical exposure in claims.

Megan earned her J.D. from Temple University School of Law in 2002. Outside her professional accomplishments, she remains committed to the success and integrity of Chartwell Law and finds great joy in her role as a devoted wife and mother of two.
