Chartwell Law is proud to announce a major victory on behalf of our client, Tractor Supply Company of Brentwood, Tennessee. After a year and a half of intense litigation, the Circuit Court granted summary judgment from the bench at the conclusion of the hearing, finding the Plaintiff’s claims were barred by Florida’s impact rule.
The case arose from unusual allegations of negligence in a Tractor Supply store. Despite the serious nature of the claims, the court ruled in favor of our client, upholding the long-standing principles of Florida law prohibiting liability when there are only damages from mental anguish. Our appellate practice is ready to defend against an appeal from the Plaintiff.
